The "Team run: by the region, for the region"
will take place again on Maundy Thursday at Wiesensee in 2020 - on Thursday, April 9, 2020! The event starts at 6 pm. It is all about running for a good cause. You can register from January 2020 (see below)!
This time there will be a special attraction for the charity runners: a well-known and very successful sportsman will be our guest: rower Hannes Ocik. He will bring his power to a regional event, where the focus will be on helping fellow human beings with fun and joy.
Because the response and the atmosphere were so good and the willingness of the participants to donate was very high, it is almost an obligation to get the event back on its feet.
AND: The VOR-TOUR der Hoffnung e.V. is on board!
A driving force of the Benefinz team run is the sponsor of "VB-C GmbH Co.KG, Zurich Group" in Westerburg. Nina Engel from the WällerLand Tourist-Info is very happy about such team partners for the organisation. And Christian Weber has already developed a great idea for 2020.
"We live here, we work here, we earn our money here, so we would like to get involved locally," says Weber. "Everyone who takes part is welcome, there is no competition in such actions, you pull together. The company run in Bad Marienberg is also sponsored by VB-C-Versicherung.
Running along because it is fun and helps
450 runners competed in 2019 - among them family members of all ages, parents with prams, groups of friends, larger staffs of companies, clubs and individual runners... There was a good mood, everyone wanted to be there, have fun and help.
In 2019 a considerable donation was collected
This goal was achieved: Right after the run, 3600 Euros could be handed over to the VOR-TOUR der Hoffnung e.V.
With this donation, the VOR-TOUR honoured the sponsorship of Unnau and Kleine Herzen Westerwald.
A star will come
To get the donation wheel going again, Christian Weber would like to bring a sports star on board this time - or rather out of the boat: Hannes Ocik!
The batsman led the German Rowing Federation's parade boat to several European and World Championship titles. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro Hannes Ocik won the silver medal with the Germany eighth.
Vortour der Hoffnung supports the team run
To be there and to help is everything, that is the basic idea of the team run at the Wiesensee, which together with the VOR-TOUR der Hoffnung e.V. pursues the goal of supporting sick children on site.
The good cause starts at 6 pm. The Tourist-Information WällerLand am Wiesensee (TiWi) is looking forward to many participants!
Who should take part? Actually everyone. All athletes, fit club teams and enthusiastic company groups as well as active neighboring or family teams, young people ... Groups (three or more people) can register now. But also individual participants are welcome, who want to join in for the fun of it with timekeeping or without scoring, of course also Nordic Walkers.
The aim is to walk around the Wiesensee, i.e. 6.5 kilometres. Ambitious and experienced runners can show their best. The timekeeping is done by the experienced Volker Kram. And if a family group "only" reaches a normal walking time: Also good! Because being there, the team and benefit idea are in the foreground. Here they mean success.
The preparation for the team run is very inviting and easy, because the training can take place right on the track where the sporting event takes place. Parking spaces are available at the TiWi (Winner Ufer 9, Stahlhofen a.W.) or in Pottum. Have fun!
"It is important to us to motivate people on site to show initiative", explains co-organizer Nina Engel (TiWi). "We want to attract participants who live nearby. The idea of sustainability is part of it". Fitness, group dynamics, help for others as well as the environmental idea and regional solidarity are the building blocks for the team run.
The net proceeds will be donated. The amount will be handed over to the VOR-TOUR der Hoffnung e.V. that evening, which is committed to children suffering from cancer and in need of help - on site! This is help that arrives 100 percent! Among others, chairman Jürgen Grünwald and Raimund Wittlich (2nd chairman) are committed to this.
