Brief description

Unique panorama over the Hachenburg Westerwald

Detailed description

If you want to enjoy a unique view in the marvellous surroundings of Hachenburg, you should pay a visit to the Gräbersberg near Alpenrod. It is the highest elevation in the municipality of Hachenburg and is located directly on the WesterwaldSteig trail. Visitors with a head for heights should climb the 70 metre high viewing tower. After climbing 196 steps, you reach the viewing platform at a height of 34 metres and can enjoy a wonderful view of the Siebengebirge. Depending on the weather, you can see as far as Cologne Cathedral.

Leisure fun for the whole family
In addition to one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Westerwald, the Gräbersberg offers other activities for visitors who are not afraid of heights. The rustic gastronomy and cosy beer garden of the Alpenroder Hütte invite you to enjoy a relaxed breakfast or lunch. Whether you are a hiker, cyclist, motorcyclist or simply a nature lover - there is something for everyone here! For example, guided hikes in the Westerwald, Nordic walking, covered wagon rides, motorbike tours and many other events are offered by arrangement. Children can let off steam in the large children's playground.
