To the Tour PlanerEnjoy the great views and let nature reward you as you climb one or two hills. The trail is 20.3 km long in total and takes around 5.5 hours. Along the way you can cool your feet and take a rest on one of the many benches. The W 4 hiking trail starts and ends at the P + R car park at Westerburg train station. From there the trail initially leads towards Gerhasen. After leaving the car park, it goes along the road to the edge of the town, where the path merges into nature.
The trail continues over the Rothen Kopf, an area with beautiful views and plenty of nature. The hike then continues to Brandscheid. In Brandscheid there is the opportunity to take a break at the water treading facility and cool your feet.
After refreshment, the trail continues to Rothenbach, via Himburg and the Rothenbacher Lay, where the natural beauty rewards the climb. From there the trail leads to Obersayn.
Then it continues towards Härtlingen. The trail leads through quiet paths and peaceful landscapes. The route then continues to Schönberg, where the parish church can be visited. This church is a beautiful example of local architecture and offers a quiet place for a short rest.
From Schönberg, the trail leads back to the P + R car park at Westerburg train station. The return route is well signposted and leads through varied landscapes back to the starting point.
