Geführte Wanderung über den Kucksberg

Description

Guided hike over the Kucksberg
The 2.5-hour guided hike is approx. 6 km long and takes place at a leisurely pace. You should be a good walker, but no special fitness level is required. On this circular walk, we explore the history of Wissen.
From the starting point in front of the tourist information office at the RegioBahnhof, we follow the Walzwerkstraße past the kulturWERKwissen through the Frankenthal industrial estate, where the large hot rolling mill used to be located. We visit the former forced labor camp and see information boards and relics of mining along the way. The historic Alte Poststraße and beautiful views from the Kucksberg over Wissen are part of the hike, as is the old customs house. As the hike leads through Wissen's old town back to the RegioBahnhof, it is possible to stop off at the local restaurant (reservation recommended). Please do not forget sports/hiking shoes and something to drink.
