The pop and gospel choir RiseUp was founded years ago as a project choir of the Altenkirchen District Choir Association and was initially called "Sing & Swing". Under the direction of Birgit Keil, however, it now rehearses in Hachenburg-Altstadt and has not performed in the AK district for some time. The choir literature consists primarily of contemporary, modern songs and gospel music. At the performances, RiseUp is usually accompanied by its own four-piece band.
The singers musically frame the special event of the "Marienthaler Forum". In the event, which takes place specially on the occasion of Raiffeisen Week, Prof. Dr. Dr. Michael Klein, "Raiffeisen's grandson", will take a closer look at the Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus. Prof. Dr. Klein did his doctorate as a historian on Raiffeisen and also has a special relationship with Raiffeisen as a theologian: As the Protestant pastor of Hamm (Sieg), he preaches in the very church where Raiffeisen was baptised.
