The successful Koblenz concert orchestra will once again open the New Year in Montabaur with its traditional New Year's concert! Since its foundation in 1971, the Postmusikkapelle has been one of the most renowned wind orchestras in northern Rhineland-Palatinate and the Middle Rhine region. In addition to regular engagements in Koblenz and the surrounding area as well as on the national stage, the orchestra from the Rhine-Moselle city also enjoys particular popularity abroad. Numerous concert tours, e.g. to the United States of America, Canada, Australia, Brazil, France, Scandinavia, Hungary, Austria, Malta and Great Britain, bear witness to this. The musicians continue to delight their audiences with a wide-ranging and varied repertoire. This includes original compositions for large symphonic wind orchestra as well as works of all musical styles and eras in sophisticated arrangements. This year, the orchestra's programme includes the monumental symphonic poem "Hamburg - The Gateway to the World". Guido Rennert's powerful and therefore rarely heard composition takes you through the impressive city and its history. A work that elicits every conceivable colour and sound from a symphonic wind orchestra and musically and emotionally depicts the journey through time through this city steeped in history in all its facets.
