On the church organ, Patrick Gläser performs symphonic film music by John Williams, Steve Jablonski or Hans Zimmer, newly adapted rock classics from Queen to Pink Floyd, pop titles e.g. B. by ABBA or Camila Cabello. Between the titles, Gläser repeatedly builds bridges between the audience in the church and the supposedly “secular” music from the organ. The organizer is the Evangelical parish of Neunkirchen. Admission is on a donation basis. Part of the collection is intended for the parish's church music work. "Orgel rockt" is a rousing solo project for the church organ. Since November 2009, the Öhringen organist and choir director Patrick Gläser has been playing his cover versions of well-known titles from the rock, pop and film genres based on hearing, heart and memory. The new Tour 6 program has been running since January 2020, after a very successful start since March 2020 and then only to a very limited extent due to the corona pandemic. In the meantime, 410 concerts with around 85,000 listeners have taken place in a good twelve years. Highlights included appearances in Sweden, the Netherlands, at the German days in Arkhangelsk, in Austria and Switzerland, in the Mariendom in Hildesheim and in 2016 together with the Wise Guys on their farewell tour in Weinsberg. In October 2017 Orgel rockt could be seen live at the Hope Gala in the Dresden Kulturpalast, and in June 2018 in the Worms Cathedral at a concert on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the cathedral. Around 800 music titles are on the wish list, which is maintained for Orgel rockt. Audience requests from concertgoers and people who view the project on the Internet, e.g. B. on YouTube. How do this music and the church space get along? Tens of thousands of people who have already come to the church concerts in order to be touched again on the organ by the music they know from the highs and lows of their lives have decided.
