Invitation to the gingerbread market in Westerburg The Christmas village on the town hall square is a meeting place for all generations The popular Christmas village on the town hall square will open its doors from Thursday, November 28 through Sunday, December 1. The gingerbread market has a long tradition in Wäller-Land. Young and old alike are attracted by the colorful range of stalls, entertainment and live music. As in previous years, the four-day event is once again organized and run by the Westerburger Land trade association, the town and the municipality of Westerburg. Clubs and groups provide a varied program. “St. Nicholas will visit us on Friday and Saturday at 4 pm and hand out lots of presents to the girls and boys in attendance,” says the organizing team, looking forward to the special highlight for families with children. There will be plenty of food and drink available in the Christmas village. There will also be coffee and cake in the heated council hall from 2 pm. The event starts on Thursday, November 28 at 6 pm. The official opening by representatives of the trade association, town and municipality will take place at around 7 pm in the beautifully decorated nativity scene on the town hall square. Christmas melodies will first be presented by the Westerburg town band. Afterwards, from around 8.30 pm, the local ensemble “LiChörchen” will provide the best musical entertainment.
