During a heavy snowstorm, the animals of the forest seek refuge and protection in Vanya's cosy forest hut. One by one, hare, fox and bear knock on his door in distress. And they are all afraid: of the storm, of course, but even more so of each other, as all the guests have been used to avoiding each other until now. While the snowstorm rages outside, Vanya offers his guests a warm and safe place to sleep. They move closer together and spend the night peacefully. This allows them to forget their enmity for once in their time of need.
